This report it’s especially interesting for us, because it concerns about over 80 million European citizens.
We ask for its immediate implementation!
Because we... the people with disabilities, should have access to the public institutions' web pages.
To be able to ask for a certificate!
To submit our tax declaration without trouble.
To schedule an appointment in a hospital!
For many people, those things are obvious!
But for us, people with disabilities, most of these things look like luxuriousness.
I suggest to the Commission Members to put for a little bit themselves into our position. So they could understand, how much they have delayed this report which we are waiting for since 2012.
If they could experience our needs, we would live in a better Europe.

Every coup attempt generates extraordinary situations but in this case, this coup , it was the best gift for Mr Erdogan. Hundreds' of journalist in jail, thousands of unemployment, hundreds of media closing. Do you know for how many years in jail are the 190 journalists accused for? 2150 years! 2150 years for insignificant reason. Tsant Doudar , Sakharov prize nominee, condemned and imprisoned because he just did a press revelation. And I hope to win the Sakharov prize because that will be the best response of European Parliament at Turkey. We want good relations with Turkey and its people. But good relations based on the respect of democracy, liberties and press liberty.

MEPs support Greece

Guillaume Balas:
We must put an end to this. Greece has made all the necessary efforts to exit its situation. Greece has conformed to all Institution's demands which were yet extremely difficult.
The European Union should now show support to Greece and affirm clearly that we will move forward on the debt issue and that Greece will come out of the situation in which it is right now.
Isabelle Thomas:
We have to negotiate the Greek debt and reduce it and secondly, we have to reform the investment fund.

Sergio Cofferati:
I believe that EU has to absolutely help Greece. EU had a very wrong attitude towards Greece and the Greek people. On the other hand Greeks had extraordinary courage in the most difficult period in their recent history. The Government has, with great sense of responsibility, faced EU constraints. Today Europe has to help Greece.
Emmanuel Maurel:
I think we have to provide our full support to Greek people who suffer for years a kind of social and economic persecution despite the difficulties they also have to face. As European progressives, our message is that we should help the Greek people.

S. Kouloglou: I think it’s very important that all the journalists have made and said us here. It is very important that all of them underline the role of the whistle-blowers and that we finally have to protect as European Union whistle-blowers. We have to award people like the people with LuxLeaks and not to be punished and judged and condemned by the courts. And we have to award people like Snowden, they opened the road, like Snowden and Assange, they opened the road for whistle-blowing in the modern era these last years. Well, you know I would like to ask all of the journalists that testify here. You know in the European Parliament recently we voted, not all of us, but we voted for the protection of the secrets of enterprises. And now I would like to ask you whether you have some proposals for the protection of the right of the journalists to investigate such stories. We have some precise ideas what we can do, what we can vote for the transparency. For facilitating your work in order to have better results.
K. Clerix: Maybe one element that we should add to this debate is the important use of encryption as a way of securely communicating with each other. Encryption has been on the agenda in terms of the fight against terrorism should a terrorist have access to encrypted data. But you should know that we at ICIJ often communicate with each other through encryption. It’s not a black and white story I am just saying if you want whistle-blowers to contact us in such way that they will not leave traces behind, if you want us journalists to be able to communicate with each other on sensitive topics without being spotted on by third parties, then encryption is useful too.
S. Kouloglou: I would like to ask Mr. Clerix, he said that in every research the typical answer was that what we are doing is according to the law. Well I would like to ask you whether you think there are laws that could be changed in order to make the whole system more transparent and also facilitate your job.
K Clerix: As I have previously pointed out I think the main laws to be changed are the ones inside the tax-heavens, the jurisdictions where laws make it possible that anonymity is guaranteed so I think those are the principle steps to be taken. Inside Europe, I think it’s important that every Member-State has good guarantees for source protection of journalists in terms of facilitating our work. Belgium in that respect is quite a good example. As for whistle-blowers I think one thing is protecting them against judicial prosecution afterwards. Another thing is looking at the future of their life. Imagine you are a whistle-blower and you come out with information from the company you used to work for and next week you have to look for a new job. Who is going to hire you because in your previous job you leaked information? So let’s also take their futures into account and how can a legislative framework answer to this challenge. Thank you
